Dear Doc:

Thanks again for helping us out with our existing contract with your competitor. Our shop manager signed a 5 year contract for shop towels and 5 shop coats. He didn't remember signing anything which tells me they just slipped it in on him without making a big to do about it. Normally, he brings any contracts like that to the front office so we are aware of it, but not this time. It was just stapled to the delivery paper.

Since you told me all their tricks (which they used), I was prepared when I called them, and at least got out of the shop towels part of the contract. I'm stuck with the shop coats for 3 more years and their ridiculously high service charge. Since June 2006 our shop towels have doubled in price (was .15/ea now .33/ea) as have our shop coats. Our delivery charge has gone from. $10.65 per the contract to $13.04.

After all this investigation I thought I had better check your increases. I had records going back to December 2001. We are now being charged $4 in delivery (was $3) and a $ 1.40 fuel surcharge, that's it!! The mats have not gone up. That's amazing! No price increase in 7 years, maybe more.

I would highly recommend NorthStar for any service you provide. Besides the great friendly service we receive from our local rep, you run an honest company. Please don't let anyone else sign, up with Cintas!

They are always ready to change our pars and make any special requests easy and accurate.

I really appreciate your steering us toward the grade 2 towels. This is a great example of you looking out for my business like I would have. You have been right about the towels as our customers do not see them, they are half the price of the grade 1 towels and we are not filling up a landfill with the disposable towels we used to use. In fact we are at the same cost structure with less waste and my staff feels really great about this change!
